INNER LANDSCAPES - 03 February 2026

Inner Landscapes Series - an ongoing visual diary of inner worlds, tracing emotional complexity.

Purchase available through direct enquiry: info@carolinmstudio.com

The Inner Landscapes series consists of intimate, small-scale works on paper created as an ongoing, intuitive exploration of emotional states, memory, and inner movement. Each piece emerges without a fixed plan, evolving through layers of colour, gesture, and texture until a sense of balance reveals itself from within initial chaos.

Working with different types of oil paints (including oil pastels, oil sticks, and drawing oils), acrylic, and occasionally charcoal and pencil on heavy-weight, structured and hand-made paper, Carolin builds surfaces that shift subtly with changing light and time of day. These works invite slow looking and taking your time to explore - revealing new relationships, depth, and atmosphere over time. Though modest in scale, each painting carries presence and emotional weight of a larger inner world.

The series is created on heavyweight, handmade cotton rag paper, chosen for its exceptional strength, softness, and tactile presence. The gently irregular edges and subtly textured surface form an integral part of the piece, enhancing its sensitivity and quiet physicality.

Every piece in this series is unique, dated, and signed, forming part of an ongoing visual diary of inner landscapes.

Inner Landscapes - 03.02.2026

This work unfolds through a quiet rhythm of repeated vertical gestures that bring structure to what lies beneath. Rather than concealing the underlying layers, these markings hold and contain them - allowing complexity, fragility, and emotional residue to remain visible while guiding them into a state of balance. Calm emerges not through simplification, but through integration. The rawness remains present, giving the work its depth, its honesty, and its sense of quiet strength.

There is a meditative, atmospheric quality to the surface. Subtle shifts in tone and texture reveal themselves gradually, inviting sustained attention. The painting carries both stillness and presence - a sense of harmony that does not erase complexity, but allows beauty to exist alongside it.
