COLLECTOR'S NOTES

ABOUT THE WORKS

Each artwork is created as an original, one-of-a-kind piece. The paintings are process-led and evolve over time through layering, revision, and response to the material. Many works change subtly depending on light conditions, time of day, and season. This responsiveness is intentional and forms part of the work’s character.

Rather than fixed statements, the works are conceived as living presences — designed to be experienced over time and within space.

MATERIALS & PROCESS

Carolin works primarily with oil pastels, oil sticks, and acrylics on canvas or handmade, heavy-weight paper. These materials allow for depth, texture, and a tactile surface that retains the trace of gesture and movement.

The process is intuitive and layered. Paintings often begin openly and without a predetermined outcome, gradually moving towards a state of balance. Structure and compositional clarity emerge through this process, not as control, but as a response to complexity.

ORIGINAL WORKS & PRINTS

Original works are unique and exist only once. Selected artworks may be released as prints in carefully considered editions. Prints are produced separately and do not diminish the value or integrity of the original works.

Edition details, including size, medium, and numbering, are always clearly stated.

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

Each original artwork is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Each artwork is documented and recorded at the time of sale. This documentation forms part of the work’s provenance and contributes to its long-term value and integrity.

FRAMING & PRESENTATION

Works on paper are typically sold unframed unless stated otherwise. Framing can be arranged on request and is carried out using archival materials and professional standards.

Framing choices are kept intentionally simple to allow the work to remain the focus.

CARE & HANDLING

Works should be handled with care, particularly unframed works on paper.

It is recommended to:

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight
  • Maintain stable humidity levels
  • Use archival framing materials

Specific care guidance can be provided upon request.
